For the marrieds, it is therapy:
Sharing their solace,

A Random day finds me in the outskirts of Kampala, Kisaasi to be precise.
Hitting up a stray saloon cause the hair is whack.
It’s a makeshift probably,
a quarter of the Madam’s house.
Not the normal grabbing “Auntie Saloonie”.
The chit-chat:
Baby gaalo oyagalayo ki leero;
Ndowozza ojakunsiiba ebiswayili munviri zange.
Mukyala gundi Nga onyumye:
Olaba taata Junior wandabilila bulunji.
Ehh Nze “Jimmeh” ampisa bitya! ?
Direct Translation:
Baby girl what would you like today;
I think you will plait braids in my hair.
Mrs. Someone you are quite “smart” today:
don’t you see, the way junior’s dad pampers me.
hmph, it’s quite the opposite of how Jimmy treats me! ?
Ela mwe abawala abaliwanno:
Ku kwanjula zinna nyo, no mujja wo asoboola beera wo;

Olaba newobba Nga omuwadde ne dagala,

Listen carefully, you girls that are here:
On your giveaway dance a lot , kick that dress, your co-wife might be in the vicinity.
Men act dumb most times;
You see, you can give a man medicine and still lurks around like a village dog.

Toleeta yoghurt Mbu ova safari ebyo ebili kampala.

Even a man that travels a lot for safari is not easy.
They have made it a norm to buy “snacks”,
bringing Yoghurt.
Please don’t bring me yoghurt while you return from the long journey ( field trip) , cause they are everywhere in kampala.
I thank God my husband died,
He had chained me.
( I gasped with my mouth open)
My hair was fully plaited:
amidst the chat,
I almost changed my hairstyle, cause this tea.
However the saloon talk is tired,
Conversations should sway away from genders.
This should be a persons resting place;
to share joy and happiness;
Innovations and business goals alike.
Instead of the squabbles of relationships and family.
We all should do better,
Men and women alike.
